The Department of Public Utilities is responsible for the operation and maintenance of public drinking water and wastewater services to the entire County.  The County is separated into both the Courthouse and Eastern (to include the Tuckahoe Creek Service District) regions.  We are committed to offering our customers safe, high quality drinking water and safe removal of wastewater.

As water travels over the land or underground, it can pick up substances or contaminants.  To insure the delivery of safe, quality drinking water, EPA regulations limit the amount of certain contaminants permitted in tap water.  Our department collects water samples throughout the year.  Periodic independent laboratory testing is performed on these samples to ensure the water is within these limits and safe to drink.
