The Goochland Department of Social Services provides services ranging from protective services for children, aged and disabled to employment services. The department is also responsible for the administration and operation of Food Stamps, Medicaid, and Energy Assistance programs. Information and referral services are available to all citizens.

Accessible from I-64, US 250, and US 522, Goochland Department of Social Services is in Suite 200 of the new Administration Building, located at the corner of State Route 6 and State Route 522.
