Goochland Social Services offers the following Service Programs:
Family Services:
Services to strengthen families including information and referral to community resources, assessments, financial counseling, crisis intervention, court-ordered home studies, and adoption services investigations.
Family Support Program:
Provides intensive in-home counseling services to youth, and to families with youth who are at risk for out-of-home placement.
Adult Services:
Home based care and services to enable adults to remain in their homes and to function as independently as possible. Also provides preadmission screening for Medicaid-funded out-of-home placements such as Medicaid-funded nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and adult day care, when necessary.
Employment Services:
Assessment, counseling, and assistance for TANF recipients and others who are seeking employment.
Day Care Services for Children:
Services to assist families in locating quality day care providers, and financial assistance with day care costs for eligible families.
Foster Care Services for Children:
Provides counseling, supervision, placements, and supportive services to or on behalf of children, who are in the custody of the Goochland County Department of Social Services.
Child Protective Services:
Investigation and/or assessment of reports of suspected child abuse and neglect, and the coordination of services and resources to prevent its recurrence.
Adult Protective Services:
Investigation of reports of abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation of adults, and the provision of services to alleviate this.
