The volunteer fire/rescue companies provide prompt medical aid and fire suppression at the scene of accidents and emergencies. Volunteers are trained and well-equipped to render Advanced Life Support Emergency Medical Assistance County-wide.
Fire and rescue departments have auxiliary associations which assist with fund-raising activities. The Fire-Rescue Association is jointly dependent on financial contributions from local citizens and the County government for capital equipment financing and operating funds.
