Geography: Goochland County is in central Virginia, just 6 miles west of Richmond, 28 miles east of Charlottesville, and 105 miles south of Washington, D.C. Goochland is part of the Richmond Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). The County offers the natural beauty of a rural landscape with views of the James River Valley and the rolling hills of the Piedmont coupled with rich natural resources. Goochland County consists of 295 square miles with the James River forming 40 miles of the County`s southern boundary.
