The Zoning Department ensures that development and construction occurring in the county meets all local Zoning laws. The zoning ordinance defines and regulates the specifics associated with development [permitted uses, site configuration, sub-division of property, set-backs, structure size and location, etc.]. Zoning changes and/or special land use permits must be approved by the Board of Supervisors after recommendation by the Planning Commission.
