Investigative Units

 In October, 1994 Raymond “Chuck” Henley came to the Goochland County Sheriff’s Office as an Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff. After completion of the Basic Law Enforcement Academy he became a full-time deputy in June of 1995 and was assigned to the Patrol Division. In 1998, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal and transferred to the Investigations Division. During reorganization in 2003 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Patrol Division and served as a shift supervisor until December, 2011 where he was appointed to the rank of Lieutenant in charge of the Investigative Division. 
Lt. Raymond "Chuck" Henley        
Lt. Henley is certified as a R.A.D.A.R. instructor and recertifies the Patrol Division for the use of R.A.D.A.R. operation. Lt. Henley received training from the Crater Regional Criminal Justice Academy, Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy, and the Division of Forensic Science. During his career he has received specialized training in Crime Scene Processing, and successfully completed the Med Logical Death Investigations training taught by the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond, Advanced Civil Process, VCIN operation, Management and Leadership, and is a DCJS Certified General Instructor. 
     Lt. Henley is a native of Goochland County where he attended and graduated from the Goochland County Public Schools System. He attended J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and received an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science. Lt. Henley was a volunteer Fire and Rescue member with the Goochland County Fire and Rescue from 1987 to 1994. Lt. Henley is happily married to his wife Jessica and has one child currently enrolled in Goochland County Public Schools. Lt. Henley lives in the western portion of Goochland County.
