Patrol Division

Uniformed Deputies are responsible for patrolling 284 square miles of county. During the patrols they work traffic enforcement, answer calls for service, property checks and take reports of incidents.

Uniformed Deputies are also responsible for serving papers for the courts as well as prisoner transports and court security. Uniformed Deputies patrol 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.

Uniformed Deputies work many different types of investigations, ranging from traffic accidents to felony crimes. Thorough reports are taken to log all incidents for crime reports and future reference. In response to numerous complaints of speeding and reckless driving, Goochland Sheriff's Deputies are strictly enforcing speed limits on all county roadways.
